ANTONIO MARGHERITI DOC “THE OUTSIDER” LAUNCHES TRAILER

Antonio Margheriti’s films have long been favorites of the psychotronic film community, and he’s managed to hit just about every exploitable genre ranging from fantasy (1983’s YOR, HUNTER FROM THE FUTURE) to zombie flicks (1980’s CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE) to family films (like 1970’s MR. SUPERINVISIBLE starring Dean Jones) to westerns (1970’s AND GOD SAID TO CAIN) to spy escapades (1966’s LIGHTNING BOLT), so it’s about time that someone made a full-length documentary on the main. Thankfully, his son Edaordo Margheriti has come to the rescue with his new film THE OUTSIDER: IL CINEMA DI ANTONIO MARGHERITI, chronicling the life and films of his father.

The film is currently appearing at festivals around the world. The trailer is below, and while much of the interviews are in Italian, an English-subtitled release is forthcoming as well.

We’ll have more information on the release and playdates as we get them. In the meantime, add another fascinating-looking psychotronic film documentary to your “must-see” list, and follow their Facebook page here!
