Wizards: you love ’em, you hate ’em, and you usually see one in every LARP group when you take a walk through the park. They have gone from a large presence in fairy tales and folklore to scapegoats in times of religious hysteria to holding a firm grip on our current pop culture. That makes them the perfect subject for a Kevin Geeks Out presentation.
On Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 9:30 pm, at Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn, DAILY GRINDHOUSE contributor and comedian Kevin Maher will be joined by real life wizard Devin Person for Kevin and Devin Geek Out About Wizards. This is a multi-media variety show that will include video clips of wizards from such obscure sources as STUNT ROCK, THE BATTLE WIZARD, and various versions of THE WIZARD OF OZ, just to name a few.
If your knowledge of pop culture wizards begins with Gandalf and ends with Harry Potter, go check out this show and be enlightened to the wide, whacky, and weird world of pop culture wizardry that is available.
