!!DG EXCLUSIVE!! JOHN CARPENTER GETTING CLOSER TO A WESTERN WITH ZOMBIE COWBOY

HEY BASTARDS.

ASSAULT ON PRECINCT 13 started out as a western, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA did as well, but along the way ideas changed and projects grew and for one reason or another John Carpenter has never made a full scale film for the dusty genre. Well, according to some news DG picked up along the trail, he’s getting close.

Though he won’t be directing the project, John Carpenter along with his wife and producing partner Sandy King Carpenter have signed on to produce a screenplay that was passed along to them called ZOMBIE COWBOY. Mrs. Carpenter described the project to DG as “essentially a western that just happens to have zombies as a heard instead of cattle. [The zombies] are being harvested because there is something in their brain that can serve as a cure for cancer.” The dynamic duo were attracted to the film because of its strong roots in the western genre. Though the project is in its infancy and currently raising money, Mrs. Carpenter spoke very highly of the script. “People don’t respect the audience in the genre that we generally work in and so the stories aren’t good enough and you have to have good stories to tell and this script does, it is just terrific.”

We’ll let you know more about the project as it comes together.

SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,

G
