Cheech and Chong’s first film remains the Sgt. Peppers of stoner comedies. Director Lou Adler and the boys stage some hilarious set pieces, incorporating skits from the duo’s record albums with uproarious new bits involving their favorite forbidden fruit. Stacy Keach and Strother Martin provide solid support in this comedy classic. Portions of the film’s killer soundtrack were provided by a group of talented session musicians dubbed Yesca.
