This flick is fucking bananas. If you can’t tell from the trailer, it’s about an office worker who is slowly transformed into a hunk of cables, wires, and phallically placed drills. Kind of like the chick at the end of SUPERMAN III, minus the drill. I don’t think that chick was into drills anyway now that I think about it.
TETSUO set a new standard for violence. This was released in ’88 and few films (that weren’t SOV) even came close to this. Though I think they went with B&W for artistic reasons, and it looks awesome, it has a way of making the bloodier moments a little easier to stomach. I am all down for blood and violence but goddamn.
