Meddling scientists and that little force of nature known as fire cook the gills right off of The Creature from the Black Lagoon, turning the poor bastard into a lumbering land monster, complete with pajamas for attire. Jealous husbands and hottie blondes eventually send the big lug on a minor rampage in this third and final entry in Universal’s famous Gill-Man series.Though a bit slow in spots, the interesting turn the filmmakers take with the material provides some decent thrills, particularly during the Creature’s metamorphosis. Leads Jeff Morrow and Rex Reason also starred together in the previous year’s  THIS ISLAND EARTH.
