HEY BASTARDS.
I love the one-two punch David Cronenberg and Viggo Mortensen gave us with A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE and EASTERN PROMISES. The former was one of the best films of 2005 and the latter was one of the best of 2007, and both were tough as hell. EASTERN PROMISES was a unique film though, it touched on so many different topics, had so many different avenues it could have explored, I left that film wishing for a GODFATHER like trilogy. Well, today we are one step closer to that. Sounds like a sequel is cooking.
Though David Cronenberg will not be returning to direct (although I assume he will be producing), Vulture reports that Viggo Mortensen and co-star Vincent Cassel are in final negotiations to return to their roles with EASTERN PROMISES screenwriter Steven Knight in the director’s chair. Dig it!
SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,
G
