If you listened to the DAILY GRINDHOUSE Podcast a few weeks back, you caught the gang talking about the topic of “Lucasploitation.” This evening, May 24, at 10:00 pm CST, DAILY GRINDHOUSE assistant editor Mike Vanderbilt is presenting an interactive look at “Lucasploitation” at Comfort Station in Chicago.
Using trailers from films such as BATTLE BEYOND THE STARS, THE LAST STARFIGHTER, MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, and more, Vanderbilt will explain the key elements of “Lucasploitation” and the thin line that can separate a film from falling into that curious subgenre. Discussion and debate is encouraged from the audience, so if you feel our resident “Lucasploitation” expert is missing an important film or you don’t agree with his assessment of a film as part of the genre, be sure to let him know!
This is a free event! For more information, please check out the Facebook event page. We hope to see several of you there!
