THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

Vincent Price and Joseph Cotton star in the wonderfully odd THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES. This is a 35mm screening of one of Price’s best films from the ’70s. It is playing at 9:30 pm at the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn. Tickets and info can be found here.
The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles is showing a double feature of RESERVOIR DOGS at 7:30 pm and the film that inspired (some say was ripped off by) Tarantino’s debut feature, Ringo Lam’s CITY ON FIRE at 9:40 pm. Both films are being screened from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.
Get some damn culture in your life by watching one of Akira Kurosawa’s best films. RASHOMON is playing at the Alamo Drafthouse in Denver, CO at 9:00 pm. This is a new digital restoration. Tickets and info can be found here.
The misunderstood, absolutely brilliant Chris Elliott/Adam Resnick team up of CABIN BOY is playing at the Metrograph in New York at 7:00 pm. Believe it or not, this is a 35mm screening. Tickets and info can be found here.
RONIN, John Frankenheimer’s late-career masterpiece of an action film with a great cast and an even better car chase, is screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in Omaha, NE at 7:15 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
