THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, and repertory theaters.

Milos Forman’s classic farce and satire of Communist rule in Czechoslovakia, a 35mm print of THE FIREMEN’S BALL is playing at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles at 7:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

You have definitely seen the poster, now see the movie. BARBARELLA is playing at the Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers, NY at 9:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

Showing as part of the 2017 Chicago European Film Festival, the creepy looking Danish pregnancy horror film SHELLEY is playing at the Siskel Film Center in Chicago at 8:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

 

 

The IFC Center in New York is running a series of David Lynch films the next two weeks. Today, you can see WILD AT HEART at 10:40 am, 3:40 pm, and 6:30 pm, THE STRAIGHT STORY at 1:15 pm, and MULHOLLAND DR. at 9:15 pm. WILD AT HEART and THE STRAIGHT STORY are 35mm prints and MULHOLLAND DR. is a DCP of the 4K restoration. Tickets and info can be found here.
