Cool Hammer flick with Christopher Lee back for his second go around as the blood thirsty Count Dracula. Terence Fisher’s atmospheric direction helps boost a rather simple plot about a group of travelers and their run in with the King of the Vampires. Lee play the entire film with out any dialogue, hissing his way through his scenes. He always seemed to be under used in these Hammer Dracula flicks, this film being no exception. He’s only on screen for a few minutes of the film’s 90 minute running time. His commanding presence and the expert staging of his scenes make it worth the wait.
