If you’re in the Chicagoland area, it’s that time of the year again. Time to do a little extra yoga in preparation of sitting in a movie theater for fourteen to sixteen hours. That’s right, it’s time for the annual Sci-Fi Spectacular movie marathon.
Being held this Saturday, April 29, 2017 from noon until the wee morning hours of the next day at the Patio Theater in Chicago (6008 W. Irving Park Rd.), the marathon is chock full of good stuff this year with a lineup that includes MOTHRA VS. GODZILLA, DARKMAN, THE ROAD WARRIOR, REPO MAN, and VIDEODROME just to name a few. In addition, there will be several short films, vintage trailers, a fake ’50s B-movie trailer competition, and vendors. And who knows? You might run into a few DAILY GRINDHOUSE contributors while you’re there.
Veteran tough guy character actor Vernon Wells (THE ROAD WARRIOR, FORTRESS, COMMANDO) will be the special guest, doing a Q&A and signing free autographs.
Full details can be found on the Sci-Fi Spectacular Facebook event page. Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased here. Day of the show tickets can be purchased at the door for $25.
