Phillip Jeffries…
I was hoping David Bowie would make an appearance in the new series. I was also hoping it would be newly filmed footage secretly shot before his death. Nevertheless, I welcomed the “dream sequence” from FIRE WALK WITH ME via Gordon’s memory of the incident further connecting the film with the current events of the show. I didn’t even mind his dialogue being overdubbed with what I assumed was the voice actor who spoke with Evil Cooper in the first episode. Is that a southern accent or a redneck accent? Sometimes they sound the same to a city slicker.
Dougie Jones…
Janey-E Jones is Diane’s estranged half-sister!? Evil Cooper sure has his pawns set up here. Was the plan all along to frame the Jones family for the murder of Major Briggs? It’s going to be quite interesting when Gordon and Albert discover Dougie’s true identity. Does Diane already know all of this or even some of this? Will this reunion with the Bureau snap Cooper back to reality or will it be an electric shock? Could it be possible that they have him undergo ECT and that wakes up good old Cooper? What’s going to happen to Sonny Jim?
Blue Rose…
A blue rose is unnatural so therefore a blue rose case refers to a supernatural case. After all these years we finally know this. I swore I remember reading this theory brought up by a fan. I can’t remember if it had been recently on social media or on a fan site in the 90’s. If only we could have Mulder and Scully around to help out. It seems like we need them.
Naido…
When we last seen Naido she had been falling in space. Now we know she ended up somewhere in Twin Peaks. I had always suspected that Cooper was supposed follow her. Imagine how different things would’ve been if he had. I loved the jail scene between her, Chad, and the unnamed criminal. Once again repetition seems to be a major theme. Once again repetition seems to be a major theme. One again repetition seems to be a major theme.
666…
Interesting that among our four heroes Andy had been the one chosen to be sucked into the vortex. Gordon was nearly pulled into one a few episodes earlier. It makes you wonder what The Fireman would’ve had to say to him. Does Andy really understand the visions shown to him? It seemed like he did. Does he now know the meaning of the two Coopers? Odd that part of those visions were the young girl screaming and running from the original pilot. How many people noticed that the vision of the electric pole with the number 6 flashed exactly 3 times? There’s not often biblical references in Twin Peaks. I couldn’t place Andy’s vision of Lucy and himself. Had it been from the first two seasons or possibly something I had forgotten from earlier in season 3? I know it wasn’t from FIRE WALK WITH ME. I don’t even remember Lucy and Andy actually being in that film. If anyone can answer this question please let me know.
One Glove…
Finally we get to see James doing something other than grabbing a beer or performing at The Roadhouse. I remember Shelly mentioning a motorcycle accident affecting him to some capacity yet he seemed pretty mentally competent to me. Now we have another person pulled into the vortex and spoken to by The Fireman. What is Freddie destined to do in Twin Peaks with an unremovable glove that makes him… well, pretty much a one punch Rocky Balboa? And who’s Renee (aside from being one of Shelly’s friends) and why is James seemingly obsessed with her?
Sarah Palmer…
What can I say? Sarah Palmer seems to have been possessed by Bob. When he (it) left Evil Cooper did he move into Sarah’s mind? I suppose it would be the next best thing to Laura. I still wonder if the girl from New Mexico was a young Sarah. Was the creature that crawled into her mouth a vessel for Bob? If so then Bob is only returning to something familiar.
Billy…
Who’s Billy, and why are Audrey, Megan, and Sophie so concerned about him?
