I dig Rutger Hauer, since I first saw him in BLADE RUNNER he has been one of my favorite actors. However, he is criminally underused. It seems like nobody understands how to use him properly. Enter Jason Eisner who gives Hauer his best role in years. I have seen HOBO three times now and each time it gets better and better. This is going to be a film I can watch on a loop. When I first saw it, while I enjoyed it, I felt it ran out of steam and didn’t have control of the narrative, then I punched myself in the face and decided this was fucking Rutger Hauer who is out to settle some scores and fuck the narrative.
