“LET’S REMAKE OLDBOY!”
“BUT IT’S A CLASSIC!”
“I KNOW, RIGHT? LET’S FUCK THIS
SHIT UP PROPER!!”
It goes without saying that a remake of Chan-wook Park’s masterful (and fucking depressing) OLDBOY is completely unnecessary. And putting Spike Lee at the helm is insult to injury. But when it’s all said and done, Josh Brolin isn’t a horrible choice for the lead. I dug his work in PLANET TERROR and TRUE GRIT (one of the few decent remakes), and he even wasn’t bad in the turdburger known as JONAH HEX.
What do you bastards think?
And while you contemplate, let’s take a stroll down sweet memory lane…
