She’s still 12 miles of bad road, and she still works a blade better than you can blink. Lady Snowblood (Meiko Kaji) is back, this time she’s on a mission to infiltrate an enemy of the state posing as a lonely maid in need of employment. Didn’t seem to work for me when I went on my last job interview. Then again, they were looking for a marketing director, not a sexy Asian maid. My dress was lovely though. I digress…
This film is impressively shot and has some really well staged sword fights but it does lack the punch of the first film. It feels like they were trying to take the character in another direction and though it worked, I think fans wanted a bit more bloodshed. Still a damn fine flick, and still one of the best titles for a film in the history of cinema.
SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,
