A family man detective who is getting too old for shit and a manic, psycho nut of a cop are teamed together for a case that involves kidnapped daughters, mercenary drug dealers, electric shock treatment and a bonkers henchman named Mr. Joshua. Sprinkle in a Mel Gibson ass shot for the ladies and some perfectly staged action scenes for the guys and you’ve got yourself  one hell of a Christmas flick (did I mention the film is set during the mad season?).
