Hey Bastards.
When the weekend comes, some people grab a light domestic and watch a football game, and some grab a shot of rye and turn on grindhouse cinema until the clock reads 2:00 AM. Here are the Top 10 flicks we are digging right now on Netflix Instant. Hopefully you can find something here to punch your eyeballs with.
10. TUCKER AND DALE VS. EVIL (2010)
This flick just missed my Top 10 for 2011. Director Eli Craig takes a load of horror cliches and gives them the ha-ha treatment. This is going to have HUGE re-watch value at DG HQ.
9. THE LAST CIRCUS (2010)
Now this flick did make my Top 10. For those that like their clowns fucked up and full of symbolism and rage, dig this shit! This is a visceral punch to the face.
8. I SAW THE DEVIL (2010)
Another 2011 DG Top 10. A dark, gritty study of revenge where shades of gray take the place of good and evil.
7. BASKET CASE (1982)
A fucking partially aborted mess of evil and stop-motion badass.
6. HOT DOG: THE MOVIE (1984)
Fuck this movie for not having any actual hot dogs, but god breast it for the snow bunnies.
5. THE MIGHTY PEKING MAN (1977)
Fucking. Genius.
4. UHF (1989)
Weird Al doing the Groove Tube thing is an 80’s classic.
3. BREAKER, BREAKER (1977)
Championship arm wrestler, truck driver, karate expert. Fuck you, Stallone.
Chow Yun-Fat is looking for some payback in Ringo Lam’s take on the Parker story.
1. CITY ON FIRE (1987)
Tarantino riffed on this flick with RESERVOIR DOGS. I am not a huge Ringo Lam fan but both this flick and FULL CONTACT are the fucking balls.
HERE’S TO GOOD WATCHING THIS WEEKEND, SALUTE!
SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,
G
