The films of Clive Barker seem to be consistently and criminally underrated. Whether he is Directing (only 3 feature films) or writing (30 titles), they never reach the respect they deserve. Based off his novella Cabal, NIGHTBREED is a story of outcasts and mutants. This film is much more complex that its plot outline suggests. Barker was not happy with the final cut and prefers a version known as THE CABAL CUT, a reference to the original title of the novel. This version is two hours and forty-five minutes and by all accounts, far superior.
