We are constantly looking for new and different films when it comes to bringing you the best in genre entertainment. Short films are often where you find the most exciting new filmmakers taking chances, yet most audiences don’t seek them out. With that in mind, we will be showcasing a short film each week in an effort to give a signal boost to shorts we enjoy.
When, oh when will parents in horror films learn to listen to their kids when they tell them the boogeyman is out to get them? SPEECHLESS turns on this well worn trope of the genre, but director Dustin Demoret injects his short with so much atmosphere and gets such a good, understated performance from child actor Ryan Craig that it is nice to find the familiar can still suck the viewer in when it is this well done.
