A scientist experimenting with a growth formula commits a big oops when one of his test subjects, a tarantula (what the hell was the guy thinking), escapes and begins chewing up the southwest desert countryside as it grows to epic proportions.
Classic monster movie from genre master Jack Arnold is second only to THEM (1954) in the giant bug genre of films. Full of Arnold’s atmospheric direction and some very effective special effects, TARANTULA is one of those perfect rainy day afternoon flicks. And yes, that is Clint Eastwood as the leader of the jet squadron at the end.
