Hammer’s take on Universal’s Kharis series is a satisfying horror romp, benefiting from fast pacing and a scary mummy.  Christopher Lee’s performance as the cursed bandaged one is simultaneously sympathetic and terrifying. Unlike the mummies of old, this sucker can move and has one hell of a chokehold.  His battles with Peter Cushing are creatively staged by the always reliable Terence Fisher.  One of the studio’s best.
