Though never a household name in the US, Terence Hill and Bud Spencer were an extremely popular film team from Italy that starred in over a dozen films together. The blonde haired, blue eyed Hill and the gruff and stocky Spencer were the perfect odd couple to star in a series of action comedies heavy on rowdy slapstick gunfights and brawls.
THEY CALL ME TRINITY was the film that captivated them to international fame. Generally considered their best film, the flick perfectly combines the gritty trappings of a spaghetti western with the stylings of an old school slapstick comedy. There are many highlights, but you’ll be hard pressed to find anything funnier than Hill’s attack on a plate of beans (eating scenes became a staple in the team’s films). Followed by TRINITY IS STILL MY NAME.
