HEY BASTARDS.
The bastion of breaking film news known as the Australian Finacial Review (…tha fuck?) talked to George Miller’s producing partner Doug Mitchel and got the scoop on a planned 6th MAD MAX film. The 6th installment would follow “Fury Road” and “Furiosa.”
“We started with [Fury Road], but we then started to do a second story and a third, we’ve written the script for the second and almost finished the third. We never intended to, they were part of the exploration of the characters.”
From AFR:
As for the final size of the [Fury Road] budget, “it’s confidential but it’s massive”, Doug Mitchell says. “Because the studio has so much money on the table, they did bravely step up their exposure. If you’re talking about a big film, an action film, find a budget that’s big and it’s that.”
The film starts shooting in April with Tom Hardy taking over the role from Grandpa Gibson. The first two films are tough as nails, BEYOND THUNDERDOME not so much. The idea of a new trilogy that smacks the THUNDERDOME taste from my mouth is the balls.
SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,
