This film started out as THE FRENCH CONNECTION III and would have seen Popeye Doyle (Gene Hackman) team up with a wise cracking cop (Richard Pryor). Hackman was thankfully reluctant and the idea was scrapped and re-written. Thanks cocaine!
Rutger Hauer is absolutely ruthless in his role as the terrorst Wulfgar who has a bad habit of planting bombs with mass casualties and killing helpful dames. As for Stallone, this is one of his best performances in one of his most underrated films. This flick is tough as nails.
See you on forty deuce,
