Chang Cheh’s tough as hell masterpiece and one of the most influential films to come out of Asia. This flick is violent and bloody but it’s also patient, unlike the sequel RETURN OF THE ONE ARMED SWORDSMAN (1968) which is a non-stop ass-kicking. Neither film would be possible however without the great master swordsman himself Mr. Jimmy Wang Yu. Flawless.
