After banging out a bunch of mediocre sci-fi, Hammer jumped into the bloody world of horror with THE QUARTERMASS XPERIMENT (they dropped the “E” to capitalize on the “X” certificate horror films recieved). This flick still packs a punch thanks to some cool effects and makeup work. Most Hammer fans credit this flick with cementing the studios path to the darkside. Dig it, Bastards.
