THEY LIVE is the last film in John Carpenter’s epic 80’s run that included: ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, THE THING, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA, and more. THEY LIVE is filled with social and political suggestions, it is an incredibly smart film that features one of the best (and longest) fist-fights in film history, all while staying true to it’s B-movie roots.
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper rented at my video store in Aloha, OR back in the late 80’s (I remember him renting BLACKBEARD’S GHOST a lot). He said originally he only did THEY LIVE because he needed the money but he was always surprised how well it turned out. That’s an understatement, THEY LIVE is another Carpenter classic.
SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,
