If there is a movie in 2014 I am more excited about seeing, I cannot for the life of me give you a name right now. A monolithic fire-breathing dinosaur stepping on buildings is the highest of high concepts: It was an immaculate notion in 1954 and so it remains here in 2014, sixty years later and fresh as a daisy. This is what I need right now. This is what we need right now. I just hope they do something dumb like “trying to make you care about the human characters.” Don’t forget who we came to see. PACIFIC RIM kinda let me down. Hopefully this one won’t.
