John Woo was just getting his Cheh Chang flow warmed up with A BETTER TOMORROW. It lacks the polish of HARD BOILED and THE KILLER, but it still delivers some stand out scenes. It’s still a decent Woo flick and it’s cool to see the themes and ideas he plays with here on display in some of his later films. I actually dig the sequel more than this film though.
SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,
