Bud and Lou play a pair of greenhorn detectives whose first client happens to be a Universal Monster; one Invisible Man. In between bouts of insanity and delusions of world domination, the invisible one uses the bumblers to help clear his name of a murder rap, culminating in a frantic boxing match climax.
Hilarious Abbott and Costello vehicle was the best of the follow-ups the team made to ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN, with Arthur Franz making a very convincing Invisible Man. John P. Fulton’s visual effects are first rate, holding up against his earlier work in previous Invisible entries. The boys followed this up with a Jeykll and Hyde meeting in their next horror outing.
