Somewhere, Hal Needham is pulling off the biggest stunt of his career, and it’s a goddamn shame we won’t be able to see it. Needham passed away at the age of 82 on Friday. He literally changed the film industry; he perfected new camera techniques, methods for executing stunts, and created a genre of redneck racing films that still stand as some of the most entertaining moments in film history. Our own Jonny Abomb wrote a tribute to Mr. Needham which you can (and should) read here.
In Mr. Needham’s honor, we put together a trailer compilation of the films he directed. I would encourage everybody worth a broken bone to jump over to the man’s IMDB page for a full look at an amazing career. But now…
