Scorsese was still learning his way around the camera with this Corman production, but there are moments when you can see the work of a master; the way he mixes in atmosphere instead of going for cheap Cormanesque violence. This won’t be featured in many highlight reels from the director’s career but it’s still a cool as hell riff on Bonnie and Clyde. Dig it, Bastards.
