Bob Clark was a genre jumping bastard and the dude could jump better than most. He usually set the bar for everyone else; BLACK CHRISTMAS, PORKY’S, A CHRISTMAS STORY, those are all films that represent some of the best work in their respective genres. It wouldn’t be until his third film that Clark would try his hand at horror and it would last through, coincidentally, only three films (ending with BLACK CHRISTMAS, godfather of the slasher genre). The first horror film that Clark directed was CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS that features some incredible effects considering it’s $70,000 budget.

See you on forty deuce,
