CREEPSHOW (1982)

Fun horror anthology flick directed by George Romero and written by Stephen King. The filmmakers love for the horror comics of old, particularly E.C Comics, is apparent in five tales of terror that range from high camp to edgy horror. The Crate segment about a deadly ape-like creature is the best of the bunch. Tom Savini gets plenty of opportunities to display his always impressive gore effects.
