[DAILY RUNDOWN] TODAY’S COOL SCREENINGS!

THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 21, 2017 (All show times are local)

The one stipulation placed upon this column by Editor-in-Chief Jon Abrams is that if SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT is playing somewhere, it has to be included. With that in mind, you can catch this Burt Reynolds classic at the Alamo Drafthouse in Springfield, MO at 7:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

Row House Cinema in Pittsburgh is showing the original Swedish version of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO at 2:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

Dario Argento’s CREEPERS is screening from a 35mm print at the Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco at 10:00 pm. (Note: the Alamo web site lists this as a screening of PHENOMENA, but the 82 minute run time advertised points to this as the shorter American cut—hence my use of the American title). Tickets and info can be found here.

Fun and super trashy mid-’80s slasher flick BLOOD RAGE is showing at Third Man Records in Nashville at 8:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles is doing a double feature of Robert Mitchum films. At 7:30 pm is HIS KIND OF WOMAN! and at 10:00 pm is THUNDER ROAD. Both films are screening from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.

Crazed modern cult classic BLOOD DINER is screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester, VA at 7:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

If you know of an under-the-radar theater or film society regularly putting together repertory screenings or special events, feel free to let me know on Twitter!
