Despite it’s reputation as a timeless classic, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN is actually just a solid western re-working of THE SEVEN SAMURAI that is made more memorable because of its role in helping make international stars of Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, and Charles Bronson. You can see these legends in the making on the big screen as the IFC Center in New York screens a 35mm print of the film at 11:00 am. Tickets and info can be found here.
BRICK, the first feature film from STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI director Rian Johnson became an instant cult favorite and managed to make Joseph Gordon-Levitt a bonafide leading man. It’s playing at the Laurelhurst Theater and Pub in Portland, OR at 4:10 pm and 9:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
