TROUBLE EVERY DAY, Claire Denis’ combination of the art house with gory cannibal cinema, is playing at the Siskel Film Center in Chicago at 6:00 pm. This is a 35mm screening. Tickets and info can be found here.
The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles is doing a double feature of witty ’70s British horror with THE ABOMINABLE DR. PHIBES at 7:00 pm and THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD at 9:05 pm. Both films are being screened from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.
In THE STREET FIGHTER, Sonny Chiba does what he does best: kicks a lot of ass. Watch him do his thing at the Amherst Cinema in Amherst, MA at 9:45 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
Despite it’s reputation as a timeless classic, THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN is actually just a solid western re-working of THE SEVEN SAMURAI that is made more memorable because of its role in helping make international stars of Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, and Charles Bronson. You can see these legends in the making on the big screen as the IFC Center in New York screens a 35mm print of the film at 11:00 am. Tickets and info can be found here.
BRICK, the first feature film from STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI director Rian Johnson became an instant cult favorite and managed to make Joseph Gordon-Levitt a bonafide leading man. It’s playing at the Laurelhurst Theater and Pub in Portland, OR at 4:10 pm and 9:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
