THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.

TUESDAY, MAY 30, 2017 (All show times are local)

Yukon Cult Cinema at the Yukon Tavern in Portland, OR is showing the Patrick Swayze trash classic ROAD HOUSE at 7:20 pm. All info can be found here.

Love him or hate him, you can’t turn down a 35mm screening of a Lucio Fulci film. The Alamo Drafthouse in San Francisco is showing CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD at 10:15 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

Quad Cinema in New York is doing a double feature of the first two films from indie director Dick Richards. First up at 7:00 pm is the underrated western THE CULPEPPER CATTLE CO. followed by the Alan Arkin/Sally Kellerman road comedy RAFFERTY AND THE GOLD DUST TWINS. Both films are being screened from 35mm prints with Richards in attendance. Tickets and info can be found here.

BLADE is a really fun film. It is a little hard to remember that now, with the glut of forgettable comic book movies that have come and gone since its release, but Wesley Snipes slaying vampires was and is a real kick in the pants. The Alamo Drafthouse in Houston, TX is showing the film at 7:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.

The New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles is doing a double feature of early ’80s horror films with the late great Bill Paxton in small roles. At 7:30 pm is MORTUARY and at 9:30 pm is NIGHT WARNING. Both films are being screened from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.

TWINS OF EVIL, one of the better of the more erotic Hammer Films vampire movies to be produced in the early ’70s, is showing at the Alamo Drafthouse in Brooklyn at 9:30 pm. This is a 35mm screening. Tickets and info can be found here.
