THE DAILY RUNDOWN is a quick look at just a few of the cool screenings and film events happening around the U.S. every day. It is not intended to be an exhaustive, comprehensive list, but a sampling of the terrific genre cinema available to check out at your local art house, megaplex, film society, and repertory theaters.
THURSDAY, JUNE 29, 2017 (All show times are local)
There are those who love THE BABADOOK and there are those who hate it. I happen to be in the “love it” camp, so I think you should all go see it at the Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers, NY at 9:30 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
Never pass up the chance to see JURASSIC PARK on the big screen. You can do so at the Kentucky Theatre in Lexington, KY at 7:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
The Castro Theatre in San Francisco has a hell of a double feature of Alfred Hitchock collaborations with Farley Granger. At 3:30 pm and 7:00 pm is STRANGERS ON A TRAIN and at 5:25 pm and 8:55 pm is ROPE. Both films are being screened from 35mm prints. Tickets and info can be found here.
RASHOMON, Akira Kurosawa’s classic about the subjective nature of truth, is screening at the Charles Theatre in Baltimore at 9:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
OFFICE SPACE has aged very well despite some dated realities of life at the end of the end of the 20th century. You can catch it at the Laurelhurst Theater and Pub in Portland, OR at 9:15 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
Forget about the sequel that no one wanted and go see SIN CITY on the big screen at the Alamo Drafthouse in Omaha, NE at 7:00 pm. Tickets and info can be found here.
