Campy George Pal production based on Kenneth Robeson’s popular pulp hero lacks the edge of the original stories, but is mildly fun in a brainless kind of way. Story follows Doc, a serviceable Rony Ely, and his Amazing Five and their search for Incan Gold in South America.  The villainous Captain Seas (Paul Wexler) and his green death (some cool looking animated “smoke” snakes) offer up the flick’s best moments.  This was Pal’s last film.
