JOHN CARPENTER’S ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK (1981)

I miss the time when action films had balls; when they weren’t afraid to challenge the audience with a dark plot and anti-heroes. ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK is a classic for just that reason. A lone anti-hero, surviving in a situation that has been thrust upon him. The influence of this film cannot be underscored.
