Arguably Shaw Brother’s most popular film, FIVE DEADLY VENOMS was the first movie to feature a team of actors who in later years were dubbed The Venoms or the Venom Mob. Three of the five Venoms attended the Peking Opera School in Taiwan as youths and were highly skilled in acrobatics and weapons. Director Chang Cheh took full advantage of their skills and showcased the team is some of the most amazingly bloody and dizzy kung fu films every made.

This first film in the series is not as action filled as some of the later efforts, but its a cool plot about five kung fu experts skilled in individual “animal styles” of fighting has made it one of the all-time great cult films to come out of China. Highly recommended.
