Japan is beset by giant monsters for the umpteenth time in another Kaiju smack-down. In one corner we have the giant turtle Gamera, complete with jet propelled flying abilities and flame-throwing halitosis. His opponent: a vicious dinosaur named Barugon (not to be confused with Toho’s Baragon….okay, it’s confusing),  who is armed with a tongue that doubles as a freeze ray and a rainbow beam shooting backside.  Sans the normal child character that Gamera is usually forced to protect in these things, this is one of the more serious films in the series (readers reaction: you’ve got to be fucking kidding me). Released in the US as WAR OF THE MONSTERS.
