Hammer’s take on the Bram Stoker classic remains the studio’s crowning achievement.  A landmark horror film where everything clicks, from Terence Fisher’s energetic direction to  Jimmy Sangster’s simplified yet explosive script. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee have never been better in the lead roles of Van Helsing and Dracula, bringing class and a certain ferocity to the characters.  Their final battle is one of horror film’s  greatest moments.  Vampires would never be the same after this one.  James Bernard’s powerful score perfectly punctuates the action. A classic.
