Fresh off of kicking the ever-lovin’ shit outta anything with a heartbeat in THE RAID, Iko Uwais has joined Keanu Reeves’ directorial debut MAN OF TAI CHI according to Variety. The story is set in modern Beijing and follows the spiritual journey of a young martial artist (Tiger Chen) whose skills present him with new opportunities and painful choices. Variety reports that “Uwais will fight Chen in one of the last scenes of the film, which is being shot in Beijing, Hong Kong and Macau.” Uwais is also attached to star in the sequel to THE RAID, tentativly titled BERENDAL.
It’s only a matter of time before they either cast Uwais in LETHAL WEAPON 5 or pair him with a smartass rapper, permanently damaging his career. In a way I blame Jet Li.
THE RAID is out on Blu-ray/DVD August 14th, click here to pre-order.
