HEY BASTARDS.
Joe Dante’s latest film THE HOLE is hitting four theaters on September 28th, 2012 in and around the Atlanta area. And just a few days later on October 2nd the rest of the nation can get their eyeballs on a film that has been getting good reviews on the lucky few who’ve experienced Dante’s latest fright-fest. Joe is a constantly entertaining director, I wish he would do more, but I’ll take what I can get. We should be talking to him soon so let us know if you have any questions. In the meantime, click the cover art below to pre-order THE HOLE.
The film centers around a family who discover a latched door in their cellar and once unlocked they find a tired and hungry Dick Miller. Kidding, they actually find that the hole brings their darkest fears to life. Miller does of course log in another Dante cameo though so keep your eyes peeled and avoid IMDB to remain spoiler free. Dig the trailer!
This the international poster which I like a little more:
The skinny on the plot:
Susan and her sons Dane and Lucas Thompson move from Brooklyn to Bensonville, in the countryside. Dane is upset with the constant changes of address and the family has lived in many cities. Lucas and Dane befriend their next door neighbor, the gorgeous Julie and the brothers find a bottomless hole in the basement of their house locked with several padlocks. They take the locks off and sooner they are haunted by their darkest fears. Further, they believe that the hole might be a gateway to hell.
Starring Teri Polo, Bruce Dern, Chris Massoglia, Haley Bennett, Nathan Gamble, and Dick Miller in a cameo appearance.
