HEY BASTARDS.
Can’t say I am too upset about this. Warner Brothers is hitting the brakes on the live-action AKIRA remake. WB wants to cut the budget more which means the script is going to get another revision. This isn’t a cheap project, the world of AKIRA doesn’t really lend itself to budget filmmaking so I am not sure how they solve this problem.
Producers Jennifer Kiloran Davisson and Andrew Lazar, along with director Jaume Collet-Serra have been charged with tweaking the script, but I have also read a few reports that THE DARK KNIGHT’s Jonathan Nolan and Green Lantern’s Michael Green reportedly are under consideration should the project need a fresh set of eyes.
We have seen this project start and stop since the 90’s. I still think it’s going to eventually make its way to screen but I am less and less confident that its going to be a solid flick.
SEE YOU ON FORTY DEUCE,
G
