JOE LYNCH’S NEW SHORT FILM TRUTH IN JOURNALISM (2013) DOES A MARVEL FAN FAVORITE THE RIGHT WAY

It’s best to go into this blind. Trust me.

A lot of you caught this short film by Joe Lynch (KNIGHTS OF BADASSDOM) at Comic-Con. TRUTH IN JOURNALISM had instant buzz and rightly so, this thing is inventive, smart, and tough as hell. Starring Ryan Kwanten from TRUE BLOOD, Marvel fans are going to want bump producer Adi Shankar (DREDD, KILLING THEM SOFTLY, THE GREY) a solid. Does that name sound familiar? It should, Shankar previously produced the Punisher short DIRTY LAUNDRY with Thomas Jane last year. So buckle up, and get ready to witness a punch cool on the MAN BITES DOG tip. Congratulations to both Lynch and Shankar, fucking flawless.

Want more? Here’s the short for DIRTY LAUNDRY followed by our write-up for MAN BITES DOG and the trailer for that film.

MAN BITES DOG is one of those rare flicks that successfully blends brutality with humor. Basically, a documentary film crew convinces Ben, a ruthless serial killer, to allow them to follow him during his daily routine – which happens to be murder, rape, and other unpleasantries. Things get a little complicated when the crew loses their objectivity and decides to join in on the fun.

This satire is black as night, but funny as hell. If any of you Bastards are the least bit sensitive, you might want to stick to something a bit lighter – like THE GOONIES, CHIPWRECKED, or HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER. Everyone else needs to see this good shit right now. – The Creeper

FIGHT DIRTY,
