Normally, I would not give a second thought to a film starring Vince Vaughn as a convict in a violent prison drama. That pairing of actor and premise sounds too silly to work. But given BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99 is written and directed by S. Craig Zahler of BONE TOMAHAWK fame and features a supporting cast that includes Udo Kier and Don Johnson, that changes matters a little. Advance word has also been stellar. Quite frankly, this new poster for the film gives me even more hope that it will be as odd and brutal as it sounds.
We will find out exactly what Zahler has in store when the film hits theaters on Oct. 6 and VOD on Oct. 13.
